Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard has been praising injured French star Ludovic Giuly
Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard has been singing the praises of new signing Ludovic Giuly, and has expressed his sadness that the little attacking player's calf injury is keeping him out of Wednesday's UEFA Champions League clash with Milan.
Giuly has impressed many since completing a summer move to Camp Nou from Monaco, not least his Dutch coach.
"I don't have a lot of things to teach Ludo. He is a very important player for us," Rijkaard told L'Equipe.
The coach also spoke of the versatility of the 28-year-old French international.
"He can be a provider, but one of his great qualities is that he can score goals. It would be a shame to condemn him to play only on the flank.
"The basis of his game is his speed and intelligence," Rijkaard added.
