Metz are reported to be lining up a move for Barcelona goalkeeper Roberto Bonano following Ludovic Butelle's decision to join Valencia.
Bonano spent last season on loan at Real Murcia but will be heading back to Barca following the club's relegation from La Primera.
His future at Barca seems bleak as Frank Rijkaard has made it clear the Argentine is not in his plans, and thus the 34-year-old looks certain to leave Camp Nou this summer.
Metz were reported to be monitoring Bordeaux's Frederic Roux, but it now seems that Bonano is their first choice.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Barca are ready to bow to Edgar Davids's demands to land the Dutch international midfielder.
Davids had claimed he was ready to turn his back on Barca following his recent loan spell after the club only offered him a two-year deal instead of the three-year contract he was chasing.
The former Juventus and Milan star had revealed he was contemplating a 'great offer' from England, and it seems Barca are now ready to indulge him in a bid to head off other suitors.
