Newspapers in Italy suggested that Motta was a top target for Milan and that a bid for the Brazilian could be in the offing.
Milan have rubbished the claims, issuing a statement stressing that they are not looking to bring in any new players.
The statement read: "We are already big in numbers. What sense would there be in buying another player just to have him?"
Motta had admitted he was flattered by Milan's reported interest, but added that he was happy to stay at Barcelona.
