LOUIS VAN GAAL is set to test a number of Barcelona's young stars in the Champions League clash against Brugge with a place in the second phase already assured.

Luis Enrique, Gaizka Mendieta, Patrick Kluivert, Javier Saviola, Xavi, Frank De Boer and Roberto Bonano all started last Saturday's 6-1 league victory over Alaves, but have not travelled to Belgium.

Six youngsters have been called into the squad along with German goalkeeper Robert Enke.

Altogether, there are ten homegrown players in the party.

Dani Tortolero, Oleguer Presas, Andres Iniesta, David Sanchez, Fernando Macedo 'Nano' and Sergio Garcia are the new faces in the Barca ranks.

Dani is also included in the squad and will be oldest member at 27.

The other change is Enke, who is given his first chance of an outing since conceding three goals in Barcelona's cup exit against lowly Novelda.
