Gareth Bale has given a strong indication that he expects to remain with Real Madrid next season.
There has been speculation that the 25-year-old could leave the Bernabeu this summer and return to the Premier League, following reports of a clash with Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo - Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been linked with a move for the former Tottenham forward.
However, a day after Carlo Ancelotti was sacked as Real manager, Bale tweeted: "Not the end of the season we had hoped for, we always want to win trophies! Will be working hard in the off season and looking forward to coming back next season stronger with @realmadrid #HalaMadrid."
The Wales international became the world's most expensive player when he was signed by Real from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 and had an impressive first 18 months in Spain, scoring in all three of the cup finals that Madrid played in and won (Champions League, Copa del Rey and World Club Cup).
Despite receiving criticism from some sections of the Bernabeu crowd, Bale has still scored 17 goals for Real this season but Ancelotti's team have finished as runners-up behind Barcelona in La Liga and lost in the semi-finals of the Champions League to Juventus.
Bale is under contract with Real until 2019 and has said in the past he could extend that deal - he has scored 39 goals in 92 appearances for the club.
Wales manager Chris Coleman does not expect Bale to leave, saying: "Unless Gareth wants to leave, which I don't think is the case, then I don't think he'll go anywhere.
"He's worked hard enough to get to arguably the biggest club in the world, why would he want to leave?
"It (Real Madrid) is arguably the biggest club on the planet. I don't really see him wanting to move, no."
