Dani Alves has revealed that it is his intention to end his career in his native Brazil, rather than at Barcelona.
The 30-year-old full-back has spent the last 11 years in Spain, having started out at Bahia.
A successful spell at Sevilla earned him a switch to Camp Nou in 2008, and he has gone on to make close to 300 appearances for Barca.
He is tied to the Catalan giants until 2015, so would appear to have one more contract in him.
Alves has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell with Barca and remains an integral part of their first team plans.
He is, however, planning for life outside of Spain and will look to head home before hanging up his boots.
"I am not considering retiring at Barcelona because I want to end my career where I started it: at Bahia," Alves told Sport.
"It would be hypocritical to suggest that I might retire at Barca, because that's not really an option. Bahia is where I first got my big break.
"I want to keep on playing here for many more years, but I will not retire at Barcelona."
