Osasuna defender Marc Bertran believes the struggling La Liga side will begin to feel more confident once they record a win this season and get a few points on the board.
Former Almeria coach Javi Gracia was appointed coach of Los Rojillos earlier this month as he succeeded Jose Luis Mendilibar with the club still yet to claim a single point so far after their opening four league matches and they sit bottom of the table with just two goals.
An opening day 2-1 defeat at home to Granada was followed by a 2-0 loss to local rivals Athletic Bilbao, a 3-0 reverse against Villarreal and - despite taking the lead last weekend - they were beaten 2-1 by Getafe at Coliseum Alfonso Perez in what was Gracia's first game in charge.
But Bertran is positive Gracia can lead Osasuna to better things and hopes they can claim a victory against newcomers Elche at El Sadar this weekend as they look to kick-start their season.
And Bertran told www.osasuna.es: "Three points would give us peace of mind and confidence. That is very important. More than it should be at this point in the season.
"Clearly, we need to improve in many aspects. We have not started at all and we have to improve.
"We work to the best each week but we must try to improve and believe that the coach will lead us. That is the way.
"We are working with the coach in many ways and hope to improve on many concepts that we have not done well at all."
Elche, who are also looking for their first win this season, have recorded three draws from their opening four matches and Bertran knows his side have a chance to get a result against them on Friday if they work hard enough.
He added: "We have to start winning now. The match against Elche is important to us.
"We have to do our part to put a spin on this. All teams are dangerous, but I think we will come out with a result.
"We're going to do well because we're all psyched that this will be our week. With a win we shall all be very different."
