Adriano is keen to commit his future to Barcelona and believes an agreement on a new contract is very close.
The Brazil wing-back's existing deal is due to expire in June 2014 but he is hoping to finalise an extension with the Catalan giants, whom he joined from Sevilla in 2010 for a fee believed to be around 9.5million euros.
Adriano's representative has been in discussions with Barcelona and the 28-year-old feels a deal could be imminent.
"I've been on the periphery with regards my contract renewal up to now, in these eight meetings, because I've been focused on the Champions League," he told reporters.
"The club want what's best for both of us, my wish is to continue here. We are close to reaching an agreement and we hope it can be closed in the next few days."
There has been plenty of speculation about where Barcelona go now following their humiliating Champions League semi-final exit to Bayern Munich, with various players being linked with moves both in and out of the Nou Camp.
One of the prospective signings who has long been on Barca's radar is Santos ace Neymar and Adriano admits he would relish the chance to line up alongside his compatriot at the Blaugrana.
"I like him a lot, I would love to be able to play with him and for him to be part of our dressing room," he said.
"He's one of the most important players in Brazil right now. We'd like him to come next season, but these are things between him and the club, there are still things pending."
