Spanish striker Raul Tamudo is relishing being back at Primera Liga high-fliers Rayo Vallecano after joining on a free transfer.

Despite Rayo's lofty position in the table, Tamudo is refusing to get carried away by thoughts of UEFA Champions League football. "I do not want to talk about scoring goals for the team to qualify for Europe," he added. "What is important is that we should continue playing as we are and keep our feet on the ground." Earlier in his career Tamudo made 340 senior appearances for boyhood club Espanyol, but says the Spanish side did not get in touch over a possible return last month. He said: "Options to return to Espanyol were not there. "I am at Rayo now and it is great here and was fantastic to score the goal against Granada to keep the team up. It was unforgettable."
