Real Mallorca have suffered a fresh injury blow after Nigerian midfielder Uche was ruled out for up to seven months due to a knee problem.
Uche ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament against Deportivo La Coruna on Thursday night and was replaced after just 10 minutes of the Copa del Rey tie.
He has undergone a second scan on the injury, which also confirmed meniscus damage, and he will be sidelined for between six and seven months.
The player is now due to have surgery on the injury before beginning the long road back to a playing return, potentially before the end of the season.
Uche will be the sixth Mallorca player to undergo an operation this term, with Alvaro, Marquez, Nunes, Antonio Lopez and Joao Victor having already gone under the knife.
