Summer deal rumoured to be on cards for Under-21 keeper

Manchester City have been linked with a summer move for Atletico Madrid's Spain Under-21 goalkeeper Joel. The 21-year-old began his youth career at Getafe before moving to the Vicente Calderon in 2005. He has made two senior appearances for Atletico to date and was sent out on loan last month to Rayo Vallecano until the end of the season. It is there he is believed to have caught the attention of the Premier League leaders, with City scouts going to watch the player in action first-hand. It is now understood that City have contacted the Primera Liga outfit about a deal for the youngster, who has two years remaining on his Madrid contract and is valued at around seven million Euros. City have good relations with the Atletico Madrid hierarchy following the signing of Sergio Aguero last summer and it is understood they may be willing to do a deal. However, any discussions are unlikely to take place until the end of the season and the completion of Joel's loan deal at Vallecano.
