Racing Santander have signed Senegalese forward Khouma Babacar on loan from Fiorentina for the rest of the season.

The 18-year-old was regularly named in the squad for the Serie A side but failed to command a place in their team.

However, he hopes to gain first-team experience with his move to Racing, who are currently one place above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Alexandros Tziolis has been allowed to leave Racing and has completed a move to Monaco.

Monaco were relegated into the French second division last summer and had slipped to the foot of the table.

Their fortunes turned when Russian businessman Dmitry Rybolovlev bought the club in December and agreed to release funds to strengthen the club.

Racing have moved swiftly to fill the void left by his departure as they have signed Villarreal B player Marcos Gullon, 22, on an 18-month contract
