Sevilla winger Jesus Navas could be set to miss the remainder of the Primera Liga season after suffering a stress fracture in his left leg.
The 25-year-old Navas, part of Spain's World Cup-winning team, will be out for four to six weeks with the problem.
He therefore faces a race to recover in time for the end of the campaign, with Sevilla having seven games left to play.
"According to the medical report of doctor Juan Ribas, (Jesus) Navas has a stress fracture of the fibula on his right leg," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The player will be out for around four to six weeks."
It has been an injury-interrupted season for Navas, who has only made 15 league appearances after missing three months following ankle surgery in late September.
