Real deputy suffers fractured jaw

Real Madrid goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek is likely to be out for around six weeks after fracturing his jaw. The 2005 Champions League winning hero with Liverpool was withdrawn just before the half-time interval after clashing with Auxerre forward Roy Contout in Real's 4-0 win on Wednesday. The start was a rare one for the Pole, who is firmly second choice to Real and Spain skipper Iker Casillas at the Bernabeu, but the club's official website have reported the extent of the injury following a scan. It also comes at an eventful time for the 37-year old, who was one of four players fined over allegations of passing on messages to Casillas during a Champions League game against Ajax. It appeared that manager Jose Mourinho gave Dudek instructions to pass on to Casillas during a game to engineer deliberate sendings off of Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonso to serve early suspensions.
