However, deal is unlikely for Rovers

Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has admitted his interest in Real Madrid icon Guti, but conceded a deal is unlikely. Guti is available on a free transfer with the classy playmaker leaving Real Madrid after 15 years at the Spanish giants. Rovers defender Michel Salgado is trying to convince Guti to make the move to Ewood Park with Allardyce a big fan of the 33-year-old. However, Allardyce admits Guti is not at the top of his priority list with a new striker his main target. "Guti would be a player we would like to sign there is no doubt about that," Allardyce told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. "It has been fronted by Michel Salgado and it has been outstanding that a player like that would like to come to Blackburn. "But a player in his position is not the priority at the moment. "One of the stumbling blocks for me is the priority is a frontman and I am not so sure Mr Guti could wait for us to find a front man and see where we go from there. "But that is the key thing for us to sign a front man and then look elsewhere after that."
