Los Che veteran weighing up his options

Ruben Baraja has revealed he may be forced to look for a move elsewhere over the summer. The Valencia midfielder has seen his first-team opportunities severely restricted this season, with coach Unai Emery overlooking him on a regular basis. Having been at the Mestalla since 2000, Baraja admits he would find it difficult to leave, but admits he cannot continue to occupy a place on the fringes of the side. At 34 years old the former Spain international accepts his playing days are drawing towards a close, making it all the more important for him to be playing games. "I have a number of possibilities that I will look at," Baraja said in Marca. "I am optimistic about the future. "Three or four months is a long time, so let's see what happens at the end of the season."

Dedication

While admitting that his time with Valencia could be coming to an end, Baraja insists he will continue to give his all for as long as he is connected with the club. "The coach decides who plays, so all I can do is give everything in training," he added. "If I am given a chance I have to be ready, so I have to let the coach know he can count on me."
