Winger aiming to shake off hamstring injury
Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has offered Ryan Smith the chance to earn a contract at Selhurst Park.
Smith is available on a free transfer after the winger was released by Southampton at the end of last season following the club's relegation to League One.
He has been training with Palace, but a hamstring injury has affected his prospects of showcasing his ability to Warnock.
However, Warnock is happy to wait for the 22-year-old to regain his fitness and prove he is worthy of a deal with the Championship side.
Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser: "We've had Ryan on trial here, but he's pulled a hamstring so we can't have a proper look at him at the moment.
"We think he will be out for three weeks, he is still with us so we will have a look at him once he's playing."
