Former Valencia midfielder Edu has returned to Corinthians after agreeing a two-year contract.
The 16-time Brazil cap helped Corinthians win their domestic league in 1998 and 1999 before joining Arsenal in 2001.
Edu won the Premier League twice during his time with the Gunners and then left for Valencia in 2005.
However, the 31-year-old's opportunities were limited by injuries at the Mestalla and he made only 44 appearances in four years.
Edu is therefore able to join Corinthians, who are based in his hometown of Sao Paulo, as a free agent after Valencia opted not to offer a new deal.
