Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has signed a contract extension keeping him at Camp Nou for four more years.
The 20-year-old's contract was set to run out at the end of the season and after a number of assured displays for the first team this term a number of top European clubs were said to be monitoring the player.
Busquets has sprung to prominence under the careful guidance of manager Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola has rewarded Busquets with regular first team football this season with 17 appearances in all competitions.
The youngster, who played in the same youth team as striker Bojan and Spurs attacker Giovani Dos Santos, has scored twice this season, both coming in the UEFA Champions League.
Busquets' new deal runs until 30th June 2013 with a minimum release clause of 80million euros.
Barca are currently enjoying their best-ever start to a season with 13 victories and just one defeat in 16 games. The Catalans lead second place Sevilla by 10 points going into the two-week Christmas break.
