Tottenham's back-up keeper Cesar Sanchez has admitted he would jump at the chance to join Valencia, even if it means filling understudy duties at the Mestalla.
The 37-year-old shot-stopper joined Spurs in the summer knowing that he would be second choice behind Heurelho Gomes.
Valencia have expressed an interest in the former Real Madrid man as they look to find a viable New Year replacement for the released Timo Hildebrand.
Cesar admits to being intrigued by a return to his homeland and is hoping n agreement can be reached.
Attractive
"I am in England now and I am with my team, but I cannot deny that if something was to happen then the chance to go to Valencia would be very interesting," he told
AS.
"It is a very attractive place to go with a great team and they have a chance of doing good things in the league and in Europe.
"When you reach a certain age you know that you can perform a different role within a team by contributing your experience and always being ready to play if you are not doing so."
Experience
Cesar explained that he moved to Tottenham knowing that he would not have many first-team opportunities, but does not regret taking on the challenge as it has given him the opportunity to experience life in England
"Last summer something similar happened," he added.
"(Former Spurs boss) Juande Ramos called me and told me clearly what the situation was and that Tottenham had made a big investment in Gomes, but he wanted me as back-up and I accepted the challenge knowing what it would mean.
"Coming to live in London has been a vital experience for me as a player but even more so as a person."
