Striker to miss clash with United

Villarreal striker Joseba Llorente is set to be sidelined for around a month with a torn thigh muscle. Llorente picked up the problem in Sunday's 2-2 draw against Malaga and club doctors have now stated that he is likely to be out of action until the middle of December. The 28-year-old will therefore definitely miss the UEFA Champions League game against Manchester United next week. He is also doubtful for Villarreal's final Group E match at Celtic on 10th December. Llorente is Villarreal's leading scorer this season with six goals in the Primera Liga and three in Europe. Meanwhile, Villarreal midfielder Sebastian Eguren has been ruled out of Uruguay's friendly against France after requiring 12 to 14 stitches in a head wound.
