Fabian Monzon has been confirmed as a Real Betis player after he opted against a move to Hamburg.
The Argentine defender was all set for a move to Germany after terms were agreed with his club Boca Juniors.
However, Monzon has now confirmed that he will be playing for Betis when he returns from international duty.
"I have been transferred for one season to Betis and there is an option for my entire transfer, which is something that has to be decided at the end of the year," revealed the left-back.
"With Hamburg, the transfer had been nearly all agreed but then suddenly Betis appeared and my agent said to me that that was the best decision.
"My transfer was getting delayed and I was starting to get nervous and upset. Fortunately, now it has been arranged and the supporters welcomed me very well. Now I will have to show on the pitch what I can do.
"I am very happy for what has happened to me in my career in a short time and now I have to show to Betis why they have trusted in me."
