Atletico Madrid have announced that Maniche will be staying after sorting out his differences with the club.
The Portugal international fell out with manager Javier Aguirre last season and was loaned out to Inter Milan in January.
It was widely expected that Maniche would leave the Spanish club on a permanent basis this summer, but last week he apologised and revealed he wanted to see out his contract.
Despite his desire to stay at Vicente Calderon, Maniche was left out of Atletico's squad for the recent pre-season tour of Mexico as they tried to negotiate his departure.
However, Atletico have now confirmed that the midfielder will take his place in Aguirre's squad for the new Primera Liga campaign.
"There is no Maniche case, the problem is sorted out, he's an Atletico player," said club president Enrique Cerezo.
