Real Zaragoza midfielder Matuzalem has joined Lazio on an initial one-year loan deal.
The Brazilian's future has been the subject of speculation since Zaragoza were relegated from the Primera Liga at the end of last season.
The Spanish side were reluctant to let the 28-year-old leave but it has now been confirmed that he will link up with Lazio for the forthcoming season.
Lazio will then have the option sign Matuzalem on a permanent basis next summer.
"I'm looking forward to arriving in Lazio to start a new adventure with such a prestigious side," he said in the Italian press.
"I'll be in Rome in a few hours to define the details of the operation.
The former Napoli and Parma man added: "I come back to Italy with the aim to win."
