Fenerbahce have launched a bid to sign Villarreal star Nihat Kahveci.
The Turkish international had a sensational season in Spain, helping the Yellow Submarines to second place in La Liga.
Nihat, who is also said to be attracting Tottenham, is currently with Turkey preparing for Euro 2008 - but he admits he has heard about the rumours.
"I already know about these rumours, but everyone needs to know I am in Spain and very happy," The former Besiktas ace told Turkish newspaper Vatan.
"I am having a successful time and not thinking about returning to Turkey.
"In addition I have an agreement Villarreal until 2011 and I have not received any offers from Fenerbahce."
Despite Nihat's stance - that has not stopped Fener, and their chairman Aziz Yildrim has confirmed they want him.
"We want to have Nihat Kahveci and other players like him.," he said.
"Fenerbahce is determined to succeed and will continue to work in this direction."
An official Fener statement confirmed that they had dispatched a delegation to hold talks with Villarreal.
"Board members Mahmut Uslu and Ali Yildirim have arrived to Spain to talk with Nihat Kahveci's Club. We will explain details after meeting with Spanish club."
Aziz Yildrim spoke about his future targets for the club.
"We do not just go out and sign players. Signing a player is a process. Our plans are for the future," he explained.
"We wanted to sign Emre three years ago. He is a very talented and qualified player. If you want your team to be successful, you have to sign talented footballers. We are not obsessed with foreign players, but if you cannot find a Turkish player to meet your expectations, you have to look for the better foreign ones."
Yildrim also admitted there was still some doubt about Zico's long-term future.
"I cannot accept losing the Turkish crown but we are still talking to Zico, but we always have a plan B," he said.
"So I do not want our fans to get worried. We can continue working with Zico, or we will go with the second plan."
