Hildebrand happy to stay at Valencia

Germany international goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand says he will not be leaving Valencia for Wolfsburg in the winter. The former Stuttgart shot-stopper has failed to pin down a regular first-team place at the Mestalla, with new coach Ronald Koeman preferring veteran Santiago Canizares. But Hildebrand says rumours of a potential move to Wolfsburg are unfounded, despite his current 'difficult' situation. "There's no question of that," he told dpa. "I want to and will establish myself here in Valencia. It's a difficult situation at the moment, but I like it here."

Lehmann welcome

Speculation as to a new goalkeeper at Wolfsburg is rife after coach Felix Magath substituted regular No.1 Simon Jentzsch at half-time during last weekend's 2-2 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt. Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has also been linked with a move to the VW Arena and club captain Marcelinho has said he would love to see the veteran join Wolfsburg. Marcelinho told Kicker: "Jens Lehmann is an excellent goalkeeper with a lot of experience. He would be a real gain for our team and would be very welcome."
