Dutch ace refusing to get carried away at start

Wesley Sneijder is revelling in his strong start to life at Real Madrid, but the Dutch star is refusing to get carried away after netting three goals in two games.

The 23-year-old has already become a favourite with the Bernabeu faithful and he is delighted to have made such an impact in his first few appearances.

Despite that, Sneijder remains cautious over the predictions being made about him finishing as top goalscorer and leading Madrid to the title.

"Well, we've only played two games and things are looking good because we won them both," said Sneijder.

"People are enjoying our football. We must nevertheless remain calm and keep working hard because this has just begun. I can't complain about the run I'm having.

"I've been very lucky. It's fantastic to score three goals in two games, but I have to score more.

"We've had two excellent games. We are beginning to grasp what the coach wants and we are playing fun and effective football."

After taking the number 23 shirt and curling in a fantastic free-kick at the weekend Sneijder has been compared to David Beckham, but he does not agree.

"I don't like to be compared with other players," he explained. "He had his own characteristics and I have mine. We are different players."
