Orebro admit transfer might not go ahead

Rangers are still in talks with Orebro over a move for Alejandro Bedoya but the Swedish club admit a deal might not happen. The defending Scottish champions have already struck a pre-contract agreement with the midfielder, but have been unable to settle a fee with his club. Ally McCoist is keen to bring in the 24-year-old before Wednesday lunchtime so that he can feature in Rangers' Europa League clash with Maribor the following day, and negotiations are continuing with Orebro. However, Orebro's director of transfers, former Dundee United player Magnus Skoldmark, insists there is still a lot of work to be done to finalise the deal. "Talks are still being held but there is no agreement yet. I would have to say right now the whole deal is touch and go," Skoldmark told the Daily Record. "I can't say much more but it's hard for us to understand what Rangers are doing here. "If you run a 100 metre race you don't give up after 80 metres do you? "There is only a small difference involved but I can't say what will happen. It might happen tonight, it might happen tomorrow or it might not happen at all the way things are going."

Professional

USA international Bedoya admits that, while he hopes to join Rangers, he is unsure whether a transfer will materialise. "You never know what will happen because things can change from one day to the other," he said. "I honestly do not know what is happening right now. It might be that Rangers are doing this to put pressure on Orebro to sell me. "I would prefer to be in Glasgow now but I have a contract with Orebro and I am a professional. I will see it out."
