French striker's move to Germany waiting on medical
Bundesliga club Stuttgart are set to land Valenciennes striker Johan Audel, subject to a medical.
The French striker confirmed on Monday he has signed a four-year deal with German club after Ligue 1 side Valenciennes accepted a reported fee of 3.5million euros for the front man.
It is believed Audel's former club Lille have earned a slice of the forward's fee after inserting a clause in the player's contract when they sold him three years ago.
The 26-year-old leaves France after scoring 26 goals in 96 top flight games in his homeland.
Stuttgart, who also signed Liverpool's Philipp Degen on a season-long loan last week, finished sixth in the Bundesliga last season and qualified for the Europa League where they will meet SK Slovan Bratislava in the play-off round.
Former Valenciennes striker Mamadou Samassa has been primed for a second stint at the club and Audel's departure could accelerate the Mali international's return from Marseille.
