Pascal Delhommeau has brought the curtain down on his Nantes career by signing for Metz.
The defender has been with Les Canaris since signing professional forms as a teenager and he has been a mainstay of the side for the best part of a decade.
However, he believes that at 28 the time is right for a new challenge and he has opted to join relegated Metz.
"Leaving the club was the best solution for me," Delhommeau told Metz's official website.
"Metz is a good opportunity, they are solid and ambitious."
Nourdin Bouhkari, meanwhile, is looking forward to the new season with Nantes.
The winger joined the club from Ajax last month and is relishing helping Les Canaris push up Ligue 1.
"I have spent eight years in the Dutch league, so the time is right for a move," he told Ouest-France.
"I know Nantes' reputation and want to help them be at the top."
