Nantes are in negotiations with CSKA Moscow for the signing of their prolific striker Vagner Love.
The French club have been tracking the Brazilian for two seasons, since he shot to fame in the club's Uefa Cup winning season of 2004/05.
Love sealed the Moscow outfit's victory with the final goal of the competition as they beat Sporting Lisbon in the final, to become the first Russian club to win a major European title.
Les Canaris chairman Rudi Roussillon has confirmed they are pursuing the marksman, after struggling for goals in Ligue 1 last term, only managing 37 in 38 games.
"I can tell you this information is not false, but it is too early to tell you the details," Roussillon told But.
With the medals from the Russian Premier League, Russian Cup and Russian Super Cup victories already in his trophy cabinet, it is hoped Love's success and experience will rub off on Nantes' squad as they push towards the upper echelons of the table in the coming season.
