Nantes boss critical of Portillo

Nantes coach Serge Le Dizet has criticised Javier Portillo after reportedly considering him as a summer transfer target.

The Real Madrid forward was loaned to Club Brugge to play UEFA Champions League football but Le Dizet claims he felt the youngster was not right for Les Canaris after speculation linked him with a move to Ligue 1.

"I never said I don't want an additional forward," he told But. "But I repeat I don't want a reinforcement just to make the numbers up.

"Why did Real Madrid want to loan Portillo?

"I have nothing against the Belgian league but why has he not found a club in Spain?

"And a Real Madrid player that could join Nantes - that is not a surprise to you?

"I already said to the chairman that I didn't want Portillo before his name started to be rumoured.

"I want to be able to sign Denis Oliech. Today, I still don't know why he is not here."

The Nigerian, who plays in Qatar at Al Arabi, has been linked with Nantes for several months.
