Former Portsmouth midfielder Aliou Cisse is poised to sign a contract with Sedan.
The 30-year-old is a free agent after being released by Pompey at the end of last season.
Cisse failed to secure a move to Leeds, Cardiff or Stoke in the summer but has impressed on trial at Sedan and will pen a deal with the club on Sunday afternoon.
He played for Sedan earlier in his career and is excited about the prospect of playing there once again.
"I am happy to be here, Sedan are a club I like" Cisse told L'Union. "My daughter was born here.
"I had offers from a few Ligue 1 clubs but I wanted to come back here because I feel the best here.
"The team has potential, but we need to work a lot. Every match will be like a final.
"I hope to add my experience, aggression and sharpness to the team.
"I feel very good physically, I just lack matches."
