Matuidi set for St Etienne

Troyes midfielder Blaise Matuidi is being tipped to join St Etienne.

Matuidi has been strongly linked with moves to Auxerre and Bordeaux, but is reportedly set for Les Verts.

According to L'Equipe, St Etienne will sign the 20-year-old for ?4-5million (£2.7-3.4million).

The France Under 21 international is understood to be signing a four-year deal with Laurent Roussey's side.

Meanwhile, Loic Perrin has been confirmed as St Etienne's new captain, replacing Julien Sable.
