TROYES are believed to have commenced negotiations to hand coach Faruk Hadzibegic a contract extension, despite being rooted to the foot of Le Championnat.

Hadzibegic has been at the helm since the end of December but has been unable to lift Troyes out of the relegation mire.

The Bosnian's work, though, has not gone unnoticed by the Troyes board, who appear keen to keep him at Stade de l'Aube.

Chairman Daniel Vacelet is understood to have started discussions regarding a fresh three-year deal for the former Sochaux player.

Hadzibegic's present contract expires in the summer and he is content to remain with ESTAC, even if they suffer the seemingly inevitable drop from the top-flight.

Meanwhile, Troyes officials have offered striker Nicolas Gousse a contract extension.

Gousse's current deal also finishes in the summer and Troyes are keen to prolong the forward's three-year stay with the strugglers.

But Gousse has attracted interest from several other clubs and will not commit his future to Troyes if they are relegated from Le Championnat.
