Wolfsburg appear very keen to sign Nice playmaker Marama Vahirua in the summer.
According to L'Equipe, the Bundesliga club's coach Klaus Augenthaler has followed Vahirua closely in recent weeks.
Augenthaler was present at the Stade du Ray to see Vahirua play against St Etienne earlier this month.
The Wolfsburg boss is thought to have been impressed by the 26-year-old and is willing to pay the é¼800,000 (£550,000) fee sought by Nice.
Meanwhile, Brazilian ace Ederson would like to stay at Nice for at least one more season.
The midfielder is now waiting on Les Aiglons' decision on his future beyond the end of the campaign.
"The club will decide whether they want to sell me or not," Ederson told the club's official website.
"But I am not specifically asking to leave.
"Reading in the press which clubs are interested in me is a pleasure, but staying with Nice and continuing my progression would be nice."
