Nice have completed the capture of Strasbourg's want-away defender Cedric Kante.
Kante was keen to leave the Stade de la Meinau following Strasbourg's relegation to Ligue 2 last term and met with club officials on Wednesday to discuss the situation.
After confirming his desire to quit Strasbourg, Nice were quick to let their interest be known as they searched for a replacement for Paris Saint Germain new-boy Sammy Traore.
Kante moves to the Municipal du Ray for a fee in the region of é¼1 million (£690,000) and with the backing of Strasbourg chairman Phillipe Ginestet, who praised the outgoing stopper for his seven years of service at the club.
"He has always served the club without any problems," he told DNA.
"He deserves this opportunity to shine again."
Meanwhile, Morocco international Yacine Abdessadki has confirmed he will be staying with Strasbourg, despite their relegation.
The midfielder is hoping to help his side claim an instant return to France's top division next season.
