Valenciennes have confirmed that Bobo Balde has left the club to join French strugglers Arles.
The 35-year-old has had the remainder of his contract cancelled and is now set to join Ligue 1's rock-bottom side.
Balde spent eight years with SPL giants Celtic before returning to France in 2009.
"VAFC has agreed with Bobo Balde to cancel the player's contract," read a club statement.
"The player wished to get closer to his region of origin and is to join Arles-Avignon."
