Real Mallorca are looking to add a striker to their squad before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Marco Di Vaio was thought to be their number one target, but the former Monaco striker has signed for Genoa.
Mallorca have now turned their attention to another Ligue 1 striker in Valenciennes' Steve Savidan.
The 28-year-old has had an excellent start to the season for the promoted side, scoring eight goals.
Savidan is already being viewed as a future France international and his scoring rate has not gone unnoticed with Mallorca.
