Nene has finally brought an end to the speculation surrounding his future by agreeing a move to Qatari outfit Al Gharafa.
With it clear that he no longer figured in Paris St Germain's long-term plans, transfer gossip saw the Brazilian linked with West Ham and AC Milan.
A return to his homeland was also touted, with Flamengo and Santos expressing an interest.
Nene was, however, prepared to admit that financial incentives would play a part in his decision, and he has opted to cash in on the riches on offer in the Middle East
"It's done, he is going to Al Gharafa from Qatar," Nene's agent Gilvan Costa told Globo Esporte.
"I have informed Santos of the news. The player was undecided for a moment, but now it is done.
"PSG made things easier because the prince that owns the club and runs PSG is from there.
"Besides that, the deal is financially very good for him.
"I thought he would return to Brazil, but there has been a surprise. Now he has to move on with this new life."
