Paris St Germain continued their excellent form by beating Sochaux, while there were also wins for Montpellier and Toulouse.

Kevin Gameiro's first-half brace ensured Paris St Germain continued their excellent form in Ligue 1 with a 2-0 home victory over Sochaux. Gameiro, who had only played 74 minutes this season before today, opened the scoring in the 10th minute with the first real opportunity of the match. The France international increased his chances of a regular starting berth by doubling his tally 12 minutes before the interval and although the hosts had several chances in the second half, they could not increase their margin of victory. Second-half goals from Wissam Ben Yedder and Emmanuel Riviere got Toulouse back to winning ways as their strong start to the season continued at Troyes. And 2-0 was the scoreline too at Nancy, where visitors Montpellier took all three points. The reigning champions had won just one of their opening six matches prior to Saturday evening, but second-half goals from Younes Belhanda and Souleymane Camara were enough to lift them into mid-table. Mehdi Mostefa's 55th-minute volley gave Ajaccio a 1-0 win over Brest which moved them above their opponents and extended their unbeaten run against them to 11 games. Lorient preserved their unbeaten record thanks to Gilles Sunu's 85th-minute goal at Evian. The visitors had trailed for almost the whole game after Saber Khelifa's early breakthrough. In the other game, Nice twice led newly-promoted Bastia but had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Dario Cvitanich (31) and Renato Civelli (57) scored for the home side, with Jerome Rothen (41) and Anthony Modeste (71) replying for the Corsicans.
