Carlo Ancelotti believes Fabio Capello was justified in resigning as England manager following the Football Association's decision to strip John Terry of the captaincy.
Capello decided to step down from his position on Wednesday after holding talks with the FA over his view that Terry should have remained as skipper, with the Chelsea captain awaiting trial over allegations of racist abuse towards Anton Ferdinand.
Terry denies the charges and Ancelotti was outspoken in his support of Capello earlier in the week, while he was still in charge of the Three Lions.
Ancelotti has now backed his fellow Italian's decision to walk away from the job on a matter of principle.
"I agree with Fabio," said Ancelotti, who was appointed manager of Paris St Germain in December.
"The English Football Association took a very quick decision, without consulting their coach.
"For those reasons, I think he did the right thing."
