Melo's Juve future uncertain

Image: Melo: Doubt over whether he will remain a Juventus player next season with Arsenal reportedly waiting in the wings

The agent of reported Arsenal target Felipe Melo has revealed the player's future at Juventus is in doubt.

And speculation continues over fellow Gunners target Mendez

The agent of reported Arsenal target Felipe Melo has revealed the player's future at Juventus is in doubt. The Brazil international is believed to be on the radar of Arsene Wenger and the Gunners despite an inconsistent spell at the Italian giants. With senior officials at the club reportedly looking closely at the future of the 27-year-old, a move to English shores could be in the offing. Arsenal were believed to be interested in the former Fiorentina midfielder in the build-up to his £22million arrival at the Stadio Olimpico in the summer of 2009. "The situation is that we have been talking to Juventus but there is no official position on his future," Melo's agent told Sport.co.uk "He has been playing really well in the last couple of games and during the last few weeks of the season we have been talking to the club and there are differing opinions on his level of performances. "Right now he is doing well and we have no official communication saying that he is for sale, but if Juventus decide they want to sell him the Premier League would be one of his favourite options available to him. "In the coming days we will know a little more."

Mendez movements

Another rumoured target for the Gunners, Jeremy Menez, has been the topic of speculation in Italy with his future at AS Roma uncertain. The French midfielder has been busy attracting attention, yet his agent Alain Migliaccio insisted nothing has been decided and no negotiation with Arsenal has taken place. "It's still premature to talk about a certain departure for Jeremy. We have yet to meet the new leadership and new ownership," he told calciomercato.it "Arsenal? There is no negotiating with other clubs and I deny that the player has requested the sale. "Now he just wants to finish the season. Like every player he would like to play more, but the choices are always of the coach."
