Fournier's challenge to PSG duo

PSG coach Laurent Fournier has thrown down the gauntlet to two of his key players.

Paris Saint Germain coach Laurent Fournier has thrown down the gauntlet to Bonaventure Kalou and Vikash Dhorasoo.

The duo have failed to sparkle on a regular basis since moving to Parc des Princes at the start of the season.

Though Kalou and Dhorasoo have shown glimpses of their ability, Fournier has urged the pair to perform to a high standard every week.

"I have tried to hurt them," said Fournier. "I hope they understood it.

"They have committed themselves until now, but now they have to be able to tell themselves: 'We are in Pairs and here you have to be outstanding in the long term'."

Fournier is aiming to boost PSG's push for a UEFA Champions League by throwing Cristian Rodriguez into the fray against Lyon this weekend.

Rodriguez has finally been given Fifa clearance to play for the French giants and the Uruguayan attacker could figure against the reigning champions.

"He did very good training sessions this week," said Fournier. "He could play behind a forward, where he could be a very exciting solution.

"At Lyon, he will bring something during the match."
