Graille praise for PSG season

Paris Saint Germain chairman Francis Graille has spoken of his delight after a season in which the club claimed their first trophy in six years and qualified for an automatic UEFA Champions League place.

PSG coach Vahid Halilhodzic (pictured) was singled out for special praise in a rousing end of season speech from a clearly contented Graille.

''This season Vahid Halilhodzic made the best of this group,'' declared Graille.

''But this club can still improve by seeking reinforcements. All the same, it is the birth of a new PSG. Less show and more efficiency.

''It is the best season at PSG since the departure of Michel Denisot in 1998.

''I am proud the PSG image has straightened out and people no longer laugh at the club any more.''

With PSG having tightened up financially and stopped accumulating huge losses every season, Graille predicts a bright future and player acquisitions in the summer.

''Next season, the club's budget will be ‚é¼85 million. Last season we lost ‚é¼65 million. This year we will lose between ‚é¼15 and ‚é¼17 million.

''Next year we will be back to a well balanced budget. We will remain competitive in the transfer market. We will sign good players in the summer.

''Sylvain Armand and Mario Yepes are aims.''
