Auxerre defender Jean-Sebastien Jaures has undergone surgery on his injured hand.
The 29-year-old fractured a bone in his hand during last weekend's Ligue 1 fixture against Monaco.
Although the injury is not deemed to be too serious, Jaures will get a week of rest and sit out Saturday's game with St Etienne.
Kanga Akale is a doubt for the game at the weekend after pulling out of Ivory Coast's international because of a knee injury.
The winger had the knee examined and will be treated before a decision is taken on whether he will play.
Meanwhile, key midfielder Lionel Mathis is slowly making his way back to full fitness.
Mathis suffered a fractured fibula late in November but his recovery is going well and the 25-year-old should resume jogging soon.
