Nice striker Matt Moussilou would be interested in joining Valenciennes.
Moussilou has struggled since joining Les Aiglons last summer and has yet to find the net for his new club.
Following the arrival of Lilian Laslandes, the former France Under 21 international is thought to be surplus to requirements at Nice.
Valenciennes are ready to offer Moussilou a fresh start at the Stade Nungesser.
"If an interesting offer arrives, I will listen to it," Moussilou told But!
"Valenciennes' directors have contacted me, but I won't be the only one.
"It is a very interesting possibility, but don't forget they are a rival for Nice."
Meanwhile, Auxerre have ruled themselves out of the running to sign Moussilou.
However, coach Jean Fernandez remains keen to add a new striker to his squad during the transfer window.
"We could sign a striker before the end of January, but we are not interested in this player," Fernandez told l'Est-Republicain.
