Nantes have bolstered their strike force after completing the capture of Auxerre's Luigi Pieroni.
The Belgium international has penned a two-and-a-half year deal with the La Beaujoire-Louis-Fonteneau outfit.
Although Nantes are just above the Ligue 1 drop zone, Pieroni is looking forward to the challenge of pulling the side away from the bottom three.
"I've very happy to sign for Nantes," Pieroni told But. "It's a challenge I want to do.
"I can bring something to Nantes. I hope to repay the club's faith in me.
"I hope we can exit the relegation zone quickly and that I'm playing on Saturday."
Meanwhile, Vladimir Stojkovic looks certain to leave Nantes after recent signing Fabien Barthez was given his number one shirt.
Stojkovic has been linked with Hertha Berlin and now the Bundesliga outfit could step up their chase for the Serbia international.
