Auxerre manager Guy Roux has been rocked by a double defensive setback at the start of the new season.

Both Younes Kaboul and Bakari Sagna have suffered knee ligament injuries and will miss the first part of the season.

Kaboul, 19, requires surgery on a ruptured ligament picked up in the first-half of Saturday's 2-0 away defeat of Monaco and will be out for six months.

22-year-old Sagna strained his knee ligaments and will not need to go under the knife - although the injury means he will not be able to play until at least October.
