Auxerre will be down to the bare bones defensively as they are without three stoppers for their Uefa Cup tie with PSV Eindhoven.

Guy Roux's men would normally fancy their chances against the Dutch outfit but the veteran coach has a number of injury problems to deal with.

They should be without both of their normal central defensive partnership of Jean-Alain Boumsong and Philippe Mexes (pictured).

The pair of France internationals have been rock solid in recent seasons but both are struggling with injuries.

Boumsong is still out with a fractured eye socket, while Mexes is struggling with a calf injury and is not expected to make the match on Thursday.

To add to Roux's worries, Johan Radet is also struggling with an injury he picked up in the previous round of the Uefa Cup against Panathinaikos last week.

Roux will now have to shuffle his pack when PSV visit Stade Abbe Dechamps on Thursday for the first leg of their tie.It gets now better for Roux further forward as Olivier Kapo has had his suspension lengthened by Uefa to two games.

After being sent off in the first leg against Panathinaikos, Kapo missed the second leg but his increased suspension means that he will now also miss the first leg against PSv on Thursday.
